Healthcare Assistants
The health care assistants are trained care specialists who work with the practice nurses performing some of their care duties such as smoking cessation and routine health checks.
Health Visitors
These are nurses who specialise in preventative medicine and health education. They are particularly concerned with helping families with child care. They can be contacted on Rugby 545293.
District Nurses
They visit patients' homes and care for those who are too ill to come to the surgery. Their contact number is 01926 888026.
Community Midwife
The midwife cares for mothers before and after delivery. In most cases she will monitor all routine antenatal care. You will be asked to sign the antenatal registration form. When you know that you are pregnant please request a new patient appointment for the midwife.
Administrative Staff
Our practice manager, Linda Ashmore, is responsible for the efficient administration of the practice. We have 11 receptionists, two secretaries and three clerical staff all performing a variety of tasks to support the services we provide. Carole Levin is our office manager, who supervises the work of our clerical/secretarial staff and Bev Copson, our reception manager, looks after our reception procedures on a day-to-day basis.
Confidentiality
All patient information is held in the strictest confidence. Information may only be released on a need-to-know basis such as when referral to another specialist occurs. No other information will be released without the consent of the patient unless we are under legal obligation.
GP REGISTRAR
All doctors wishing to enter general practice are required to complete two years in hospital posts and a year of supervised experience in general practice. Central Surgery is a recognised training practice for such experience and a doctor is usually in post working with us.
MEDICAL, NURSING AND WORK EXPERIENCE STUDENTS
From time to time we are joined by medical, nursing and work experience students who are with us to gain initial experience in general practice. They are always fully supervised and if it is planned for a student to be present at a consultation, the patient’s permission is always asked beforehand. Patient confidentiality is always an important part of their briefing.
